International Protein IndexThe IPI (International Protein Index) provides a top level guide to the main databases that describe the human proteome: Ensembl, SWISS-PROT/TrEMBL and RefSeq. IPI is created by using sequence comparison to identify entries from the source databases that represent the same protein. These mappings are used to create a cross-referenced human dataset with maximum extent but minimum redundancy. IPI is released monthly. Since the release of version 2.0 in October 2001, stable identifiers and incremental sequence versioning have been maintained across releases. For more details see the IPI help page You can download the current IPI data set via FTP. |
