Ensembl Mosquito What's New v8.1b.1 (2 September 2002)

Ensembl: Latest Developments
v8.1b.1 data release
The 8.1b.1 release of Anopheles is just a schema update to make it compatible with the latest human release.
v7.1b.3 data release
The 7.1b.3 release of Anopheles contains additional (and modified) data:
Scaffolds are no longer identified by internal Celera identifiers.
A set of about 450,000 SNPs have been mapped to the assembly.
The BAC map is available as a track in contigview.
"Mate pairs" that indicate possible misassemblies are included as an aid to interpreting the assembly.
Assembly contigs now display their EMBL (rather than Celera) contig IDs.

   Mosquito Assembly 1
The International Anopheles Genome project is a collaboration between Celera Genomics, Genoscope, University of Notre Dame, EBI/SangerInstitute, EMBL, Institut Pasteur, IMBB and TIGR. It was mainly funded by NIH-NIAID and the French Ministry of Research to provide the sequence of Anopheles gambiae, the major African Malaria vector. Celera Genomics and Genoscope were respectively funded by the NIH and the French Ministry of Research to generate a whole shotgun assembled by Celera. Celera and Ensembl have collaborated to produce an initial annotation of its sequence.
